MICE: Driving the City

The Faculty of Social Sciences at Naresuan University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Napisa Waitoolkiat, had the honor of welcoming participants to the seminar titled β€œMICE: Driving the City,” co-organized by the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), the Lower Northern Region MICE Network Association, and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Naresuan University.

MICE, an acronym for Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions, represents a thriving industry in business and event organization, contributing to economic and social growth. The four components of MICE include:

– Meetings (M): Corporate or business group meetings and seminars
– Incentives (I): Reward programs and motivational events for employees, clients, or business partners
– Conventions (C): Large-scale national and international academic or professional conferences
– Exhibitions (E): Trade shows and exhibitions showcasing products, services, or new technologies

The seminar aimed to foster business networks, promote learning and skill development, and exchange experiences while enhancing corporate image and creating new business opportunities. MICE plays a vital role in the sustainable development and expansion of industries across regions.

Distinguished guest speakers included Ms. Kanokporn Damrongkul, Director of the International Trade Exhibitions Division at TCEB; Mr. Pakorn Dansithong, Chairman of the Phitsanulok Chamber of Commerce; and Mr. Nopadol Jaruphanjarassri, Vice Chairman of the Phitsanulok Federation of Thai Industries. They discussed the background, roles, and development of MICE and strategies for expanding the industry into various provinces, particularly Phitsanulok. The seminar was moderated by Mr. Worawit Makaew, Northern Regional Representative of TCEB, and took place on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Rajapruek 1 Conference Room, Faculty of Social Sciences, Naresuan University. 🌍✨
