Naresuan University Strengthens Global Presence at the World Cultural Heritage City and Night Festival Conference 2025
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 1:00 PM, Assistant Professor Dr. Napisa Waitoongkiat, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Naresuan University, attended the opening ceremony of the World Cultural Heritage City and Night Festival Conference 2025, held at the Convention Hall of The Imperial Hotel and Convention Centre Phitsanulok, Thailand. The event was inaugurated by Mr. Tawee Sermpattarakul, Governor of Phitsanulok Province.
Organized by IFEA Asia and the Joint Committee of Private Sector Associations of Phitsanulok and Sukhothai, this conference aimed to showcase the potential of the region as a MICE City and highlight its significance as a World Heritage City, celebrated for its rich culture, history, and natural beauty.
The event emphasized innovative approaches to hosting nighttime festivals in cultural heritage cities, focusing on enhancing positive perceptions, promoting economic growth, and developing strategies for the conservation of cultural heritage. Held from January 15–18, 2025, the conference spanned across the provinces of Phitsanulok and Sukhothai, offering participants insights into sustainable practices for preserving and promoting world heritage sites.
The conference attracted over 100 participants, including experts from UNESCO, IFEA Asia, and international delegates from countries such as South Korea and Uzbekistan. Notably, representatives from Gyeongju City and Korean festival organizers joined hands with Thai professionals to exchange knowledge and experiences, underscoring the shared commitment to sustainable development and cultural preservation on a global stage.
This significant participation from Naresuan University, represented by Dean Dr. Napisa, demonstrates the institution’s dedication to fostering international collaboration and elevating Thailand’s cultural heritage to global recognition.
