เมื่อวันที่ วันที่ 22 มิถุนายน 2562 ที่ผ่านมา คณะสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยนเรศวร นำโดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.นภิสา ไวฑูรเกียรติ คณบดีคณะสังคมศาสตร์ พร้อมคณะนักวิชาการ คณะผู้วิจัยในโครงการ ร่วมกับ Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of the Ryukyus ได้ร่วมกันจัดกิจกรรมการสัมมนาเชิงปฏิบัติการ หัวข้อ Public Workshop: How can both the Deep South and Okinawa create the space of communication to resolve conflicts peacefully? – Looking through the Structural Similarities and Learning from the Common Experiences of Both Regions – ณ University of Ryukyu ประเทศญี่ปุ่น ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการวิจัยภายใต้หัวข้อ “Locating Peace through harmonizing Religion, Gender, and Age: The Case of Thailand’s Deep South and Indonesia’s Aceh” ที่ทางคณะสังคมศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยนเรศวร ได้รับการสนับสนุนทุนจาก The Toyota Foundation ประเทศญี่ปุ่น โดยมีการสัมมนาเชิงปฏิบัติการ ในหัวข้อที่สำคัญต่างๆ ได้เเก่ 1. “Structural similarities of the Deep South and Okinawa” โดย Thanapat Jundittawong (University of the Ryukyus) 2. “Peace process and common space for conflict resolution in the Deep South, Thailand,” โดย Dr. Srisompob Jitpiromsri (Prince of Songkla University) 3. “Current issue on the U.S. military bases in Okinawa” โดย Prof.Eiichi Hoshino (University of the Ryukyus) 4. และเวทีเสวนาในประเด็นที่เกี่ยวข้องและข้อคำถามที่น่าสนใจ ประกอบด้วยผู้ร่วมเสวนา อาทิ – Professor Dr. Caroline C. Latham (Professor Emeritus, Meio University) – Mr. Hiroji Yamashiro (Okinawa Peace Movement Center) ทั้งนี้ยังได้รับเกียรติจาก MR. Hideo Tone ตัวแทนจากทาง Toyota Foundation รวมกล่าวเปิดโครงการและร่วมการสัมมนาในครั้งนี้อีกด้วย
